Maciej Żółtowski is the Artistic Director of Fenimore Chamber Orchestra. In addition to his work as a conductor, he is an accomplished violinist, harpsichordist, and organist.
From 2007 to 2017, Maestro Żółtowski served as Managing and Artistic Director of the Radom Chamber Orchestra (ROK) in Poland. Earlier, from 2002 to 2005, he was Artistic Director and Conductor of the Cyprus State Orchestra, where he significantly elevated the ensemble's artistic level. Under his leadership, the orchestra undertook successful international tours to London, Copenhagen, Paris, and Athens.
From 2017 to 2019, he made both debuts and return appearances with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Salta and Orquesta Sinfónica de Rosario in Argentina. He has also regularly collaborated with major orchestras in Mexico—including the Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, and Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán—as well as with ensembles in the United States, Canada, Ecuador, Singapore, Russia, China, Finland, Hungary, Switzerland, Serbia, Germany, Italy, Moldova, Turkey, and his native Poland.
Żółtowski studied composition and conducting at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw with Marian Borkowski and Ryszard Dudek, and pursued further studies with Gianluigi Gelmetti in Siena, Zoltán Peskó in Szombathely, and Yuri Simonov in Budapest.
His discography includes recordings for The Steinway Club Cyprus, notably Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 3 with pianist Dimitris Sgouros, and the world premiere of Concerto for 10 Pianos and Orchestra by Savvas Savva. His recordings with the Radom Chamber Orchestra include Grażyna Bacewicz – Works for Chamber Orchestra (Volumes I and II), which earned critical acclaim including a “Five Diapasons” rating from Diapason (France), Excepcional from Scherzo (Spain), and a nomination for the 2011 International Classical Music Awards. His most recent CD, Krzysztof Penderecki – Works for String Orchestra, was released by DUX on the occasion of the composer’s 80th birthday and featured in the prestigious Penderecki Special Edition.
Maciej Żółtowski is a recipient of the Polish Silver Order of Merit and the Bronze Medal “Gloria Artis” for his contributions to culture.
