How much should I pay to join Local 380-443?
If you have never been a member of the American Federation of Musicians:
You will have to pay a one-time Federation Initiation Fee of $65, a one-time Local 380-443 Initiation Fee of $25, and at least one quarter’s dues of $28.50. You can pay for as many quarters as you’d like at $28.50 each ($114/year). Quarters run from January – March, April – June, July – September, and October – December. You will also need to complete an application.
If you are a member of another AFM Local, but have never been a member of Local 380-443:
You will need to pay a one-time Local 380-443 Initiation Fee of $25 and at least one quarter’s dues of $28.50. You can pay for as many quarters as you’d like at $28.50 each ($114/year). Quarters run from January – March, April – June, July – September, and October – December. You will also need to complete an application.
If you are a former member of Local 380-443 (or any Local with which we’ve merged):
As long as you resigned in good standing (meaning you resigned while your dues were paid up), you will only have to pay at least one quarter’s dues of $28.50. You can pay for as many quarters as you’d like at $28.50 each ($114/year). Quarters run from January – March, April – June, July – September, and October – December. You will probably not need to complete an application. If you were expelled, you will need to pay reinstatement fees.
If you are a student or under the age of 21:
The AFM and Local 380-443 have special student and youth rates. Students and youths do not have to pay initiation fees. The dues rate for students and youths is $80/year in our Local ($20/quarter). You will need to pay at least one quarter’s dues of $20. You can pay for as many quarters as you’d like. Quarters run from January – March, April – June, July – September, and October – December. You will also need to complete an application.
