About United Musicians

United Musicians of the Twin Tiers & Central New York State (United Musicians), also known as AFM Local 380–443, is a local musicians’ chapter affiliated with the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), a 501(c)(5) nonprofit labor organization. The union supports musicians through advocacy, professional representation, education, and community engagement.

United Musicians serves professional musicians working across a wide region of New York and Pennsylvania, fostering a strong and connected musical community.

Relationship to Concerted Works

Concerted Works, Inc., is a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with United Musicians. Concerted Works serves as the union’s fundraising and charitable arm and supports community outreach and educational initiatives.

All scholarships and grant programs associated with United Musicians are administered by Concerted Works, which handles fundraising, application review, and award decisions.

Jurisdiction

The jurisdiction of AFM Local 380–443 covers a broad area across the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Pennsylvania, extending north to the southern shores of the Finger Lakes and east into Schoharie County.

  • Allegany County: Canaseraga, Burns, Birdsall, Almond, West Almond, Ward, Alfred, Andover, Wellsville, Willing and Independence
  • Cayuga County: Moravia, Sempronius, Locke and Summerhill
  • Livingston County: Dansville, Ossian, Spring Water, Sparta, West Sparta, Nunda, Portage, Mt. Morris, Groveland, Livonia and Lima
